A Dream Has Been Realised

On Friday 22nd May, a long held dream of some of our Clients at the Brimbank Bicycle Education Centre (A Rotary Club of Brimbank Central Community Service Project) was finally realised with the handing over of a "Dual Team" Tricycle from the Lions Club of Taylors Lakes.

Also in attendance were Rotarians from The Rotary Club of Brimbank Central, staff from Scope and some very excited clients.

Celebrating Rotary Art Show a resounding success!

The "Celebrating Rotary" Art Show organised in conjunction with St Albans Secondary College and Copperfield College was officially opened by DG Murray Verson on Monday 4th May just a few days before the actual 40th Birthday of the Rotary Club of Brimbank Central on 9th May.

40 Years On ....Some Great Things Were Celebrated

On Saturday 9th May at the Starlight Reception Centre of the Taylors Lakes Hotel, approximately 150 Rotarians and Guests celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Brimbank Central.

Originally chartered in May 1975b as the Rotary Club of St Albans, the Rotary Club of Brimbank Central has a proud history of great achievements to celebrate.

This is a reason why we all became Rotarians..........

On Wednesday 29th April last, when we saw Vo Lin Da at our meeting with her mum Hanh, and her Vietnamese sponsor Kim Troung accompanied by our District ROMAC (Rotary Overseas Medical Aid for Children) Chair Gerry Philips, we all knew that this was one of the reasons that we had joined Rotary.........because it had given us the opportunity to be involved in such a fantastic project such as this.

In May last year when Lin Da's journey of surgical procedures began we had no idea what the outcome would be, but to our joy and amazement at the skills of the medical team who cared for her she has now been able to return home to Vietnam where she was greeted by friends and family at the airport.

Life has dealt this lovely young lady an pretty rough hand of cards, but she is very determined and has worked hard during her rehabilitation and we are just so fortunate to have had this experience as a club to be part of this.
