A Dream Has Been Realised
One of the issues for some of our "special needs" clients is pedalling and steering a tricycle, and often they have to be assisted by a carer who needs to walk along side them.
The addition of this tricycle to the fleet at the Bicycle Centre now means that both the client and carer can sit beside one another and ride together, a much safer and less riskier way to ride. There are controls that allow both the client and carer or just one of them to steer the tricycle.
This wonderful donation has come about from the partnership that has been formed between the Lions Club of Taylors Lakes and the Rotary Club of Brimbank Central. Both Clubs have members who are also on the Management Commitee of the Bicycle Centre to ensure that this great community facility continues to develop and grow and that we are able to meet the many and varied needs of our clients.
We are most indebted to the Lions Club and their hard working members who saw the potential benefits from this donation.
After being there for the "hand over"and having the opportunity to see the smiles of joy on the look of the faces of the clients as they rode the tricycle around the bike track, they certainly realised what a huge differnce this fantastic gift from their Club was going to make for the centre.
